This morning in The Capucines you are on Holiday!

  • A hot beverage (choice of coffee, tea, milk) and a fruit juice
  • Toast, butter, honey and jams from the region
  • Fresh Croissants and Petit Pain au Chocolat
  • Local Ham and delicious Comté cheese
  • Fresh yoghurt from Poligny and fresh fruit
  • Boiled egg

The library

A magnificent room in solid stonework, literally seeping with stories of it’s own.
An ideal retreat for a moment of reflection and calm after a hectic day sightseeing all the wonders in the region.
Here one has to make a difficult choice
– an old classic or a light murder mystery novel?
– or maybe the two!

What a choice to make over a glass of local wine! This is just the place to immerge yourself into the inner pages of your book.
The library is also the “Clos’Art” Showcase. You can discover an original selection of decorative objects found for you in Indonesia by Patricia !

The patio

With it’s dramatic glass roof, this is where one can find summer in winter !
Nestled in the heart of the building, the Patio offers a volume and impressive perspective.
This is the meeting spot of The Capucines where guests can mingle and exchange ideas or just exchange a simple hello….
Opposite the old stone curved staircase are hung some paintings by our friend Marie Jo Bahi.
Lounging upon the exotic furniture one can just breathe in the history of the building.
What stories from the past few centuries, could be told, if only walls could speak!

The garden and the swimming pool

A secret walled garden which literally plunges into the river.
Appreciate the breathtaking panorama of crooked roof tops and buildings such as the Gloriette Tower which dates back to the 13th century (part of the old castle built in 1270 which was witness to seven sieges and then ordered to be destroyed by Louis XIV)
And when you are tired of all the historical buildings just chill out next to the south facing stone lined swimming pool – flooded not by the river but by the sun!
And when even swimming is too much effort just lie back on a sunbed or take a nap under the boughs of the cherry tree.

The sauna

Sample the Zen Attitude and well being : on simple request, the sauna can be made available so that you can appreciate it’s benefits.
A sauna is ideal to eliminate fatigue, stress and toxins…. Or simply just to get back in shape after a beautiful walk in the winter !

A privileged moment, with family, friends or just for two.

The solarium

Under the Sun… on a rooftop terrace, a place designed and reserved for relaxing on the sun beds in the sun or under the shade of a parasol. Delight in the magic of the spectacular view of the old town, Gloriette Tower, St Just Bell Tower, Chapel of the Hermitage…
Upon nightfall, the solarium is transformed into a Planetarium :
an ideal place to lie back and admire the stars, admire the old cherry tree lit up with lanterns.

The office for internet

There is free and unlimited access for using the wifi and for those travelling light (without the computer) there is a computer situated in the lobby for perusal of the internet.
On the morning of your departure, please feel free to leave a little comment in our “Livre d’Or”
